Frontline Friday: Dr. Mughal, MD

Each Friday, we’ll be introducing you to one of those employees who help make our facility so great as part of our “Frontline Friday.” On behalf of Dinwiddie Health & Rehab Center, we have the pleasure of introducing you to Dr. Mughal, MD:


After finishing medical school in Pakistan, Dr. Amjad Mughal took up the responsibilities of an Emergency Room physician in a large-scale teaching hospital.  In 1990, he enrolled with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (Dublin) to further his medical training which he completed in 1996, while also working as a frontline healthcare provider in area hospitals’ ER departments, Intensive Care Units, and medical floors. In 1996, in the United States, Dr. Mughal started his medical residency program at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital (Derby, PA) and Mercy Hospital (Philadelphia, PA), which he completed in 1999.

From 1999 until 2003, in Ohio, he worked in various disciplines, which included his office practice and inpatient rounds. He also served as a Medical Director at various skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Mughal has also worked as Medical Director in Correctional Medicine for over five years where he provided direct medical care to 50-bed Infirmary patients and also supervised many physicians and mid-level healthcare providers in healthcare delivery. 

Since May 2016, Dr. Mughal has been privileged to serve as Medical Director, while also providing Attending Physician services at Dinwiddie Health & Rehab Center.
