Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has created upheaval in the lives of everyone, separating us from loved ones. The advent of the COVID-19 vaccine has provided much needed hope for saving lives and returning to normalcy. As you’re aware, nursing facilities were prioritized among the first to receive the vaccine due to the disproportionate impact the virus has had on long term care. The encouraging news is that after a successful vaccine roll out, nationwide statistics show that cases among nursing home patients have declined by 89% and by 83% among nursing home staff.

Despite these encouraging signs, we understand that many remain hesitant to receive the vaccine for a number of reasons. We are working closely with the American Health Care Association to encourage vaccination and make additional resources available. You can visit getvaccinated.us to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines, receive answers to frequently asked questions, and explore other resources to help you make an informed decision about the vaccine.

County Positivity Rate:  Decreased to 9.2%.
Testing Frequency for Staff and Patients: Staff are tested weekly based on county positivity rate. Patients are tested as needed based on symptoms or exposure.
PPE: The supply remains adequate. Staff receive ongoing education on appropriate PPE utilization.
